*** Full Screen recommended *** Click the Green Flag. The balls will be perfectly aligned along the X axis (Y=0). Click the "Launch" button. The yellow ball will travel at exactly 90° until it hits the blue ball. The blue ball, when hit squarely, will also travel at exactly 90° until it hits the next ball. etc... until the last ball hits the edge. Now, manually drag the balls (except for the yellow "cue" ball), as accurately as you can, back to their home positions (along the X axis), and click "launch" again. Any deviations from placement exactly on the X axis (Y=0) will be amplified at each collision point. Re-align them to try again.
In Chaos Theory, the Butterfly Effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. A metaphor for this behavior is that a butterfly flapping its wings in Brazil can cause or prevent a tornado in Texas.
