Hello people! So, many Scratchers have been commenting on the training of AI on our art. I was confused, so I looked it up. Turns out, they aren’t TRAINING it on our art, they are enhancing our art. Honestly, this feels kinda just as bad. Why? Because AI still sees our art, and still inputs it into its system, and probably takes notes on the art. It also means kids will feel free to put their art into AI generators to make it better, and they’ll claim it as their own. They will feel like AI art is their art, and nothing will be original. Finally, kids may feel that their art isn’t as good as the AI’s, and won’t practice and get better. Everything will be AI. It just horrifies me. I used to think scratch was a safe place to post projects and improve my art. Clearly I was wrong. Also, I wasn’t going to make one of these projects until I saw @CatTheLoaf’s. She/they pointed out that AI could ruin future art careers. I planned to be a professional artist also a biologist, so this information was terrible. I’m not okay with that. So, I, like @CatTheLoaf, am going off of scratch for a while. I may post traditional art so I can confuse the AI things…Hehe. Of course, the occasional OC pic cuz I can’t help myselfffff Edit: Scratch team, I say this with the most respects possible, you might want to seriously get rid of AI, because sooner or later, your gonna lose all of your artists.
