An owl watches the world at night Finding a certain pleasure in flight It’s a miracle anything can dodge him As he flies from branch to tree limb Going through the air by the night sky A wing of a bird will never lie So watch for an owl in the air as the moon is here And as you stare, don’t have fear Cause though he’s big and he has wings He doesn’t judge as he sings He’s a creature of honor and truth And though he doesn’t like us, he is couth He’s a corteous beast, with eyes of fire And though his music is certainly not like a lyre Plenty of courtesy rings through his feathers He may not like us, but he minds of, against what he rathers His disdain could be hateful, But instead, he’s just grateful when we leave him alone.
