I head up the stairs after dinner is done. My parents excuse me after a while since I think they thought it was getting awkward. I flop back onto my bed and something sharp hits my back. I immediately sat up. Turns out it was a CD that was hidden in my covers. “I should really clean my room….”, I say out loud without realizing. I get up and hit they play button on the stereo. “Nobody Really Cares” blares through my room. The windows are almost shaking. I feel like people would be sad to be alone and to have gone through all the crazy stuff that happened, but honestly, I couldn’t care less about people and like it better this way. The song rings through the room as I make my bed and hang my clothes. I don’t even bother dusting though cause who’s gonna come in to judge? I sit down at my desk and pick up a pencil. It has all my favorite Spirted Away characters imprinted on it. I find a blank piece of paper in one of the drawers and look around my room. There are quite a few things I could draw, but quite a few more that would get me in trouble. Then I look out the window. Theirs this boy sitting there on the curb. He doesn’t look bored, more like lonely. I stand up from my chair and the wheels squeak on the dense wood floor. I walk to the window and stare at this boy who I’ve never seen in my life. Sure, I haven’t been outside unless it was walking to William’s(the drivers) car since I was 4 and sure I haven’t met any neighbors cause their all-rich snobs, but something about this kid is different. I feel like he has this magic glow or something that makes you stare deeper into his ey- “Ma’am, Mr. and Mrs. are waiting to the living room to discuss your,” the maid pulls out a piece of paper, “education and career.” She looks me in the eyes for just a moment before shutting the door ever so slightly and walking away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~Part III Fin~
