Chapter 19 Silversong woke to the sound of birds chirping. It was the middle of leaf bare. Silversong got up and walked out of the den. everything was covered in snow. A starry figure walked out into the middle of the camp. Silversong recognized him as Otterstar."I'm dreaming!"Yes indeed you are. "Otterstar why are you visiting me in a dream?"I have something important to show you. Otterstar began to walk out of camp and Silversong followed."Still why have you visited me and not Spottedstar or Willowpelt?"This is something you must see before any of your clan, you Silversong must save him. "Him who am I saving? Just then they came to the center of Rainclan territory. There in the clearing was a small little black kit."Ow my goodness that poor thing where is his mother."Over here. Otterstar walked over to a clump of fern and there was the little kits mother lying still as could be. She had claw marks on her side and her eyes were staring at nothing. Silversong caught a scent that she dreaded Fox! Silversong opened her eyes. She was in her den. She caught Otterstar's sent and he whispered in her ear."Go and save that fellow before he ends up like his mother! Silversong got up. She stepped on Lionstep's paw and he sat up."What are you doing Silversong?"I need you to come with me very fast now. Silversong bolted out of the den and Lionstep followed. She ran out of camp before Thornheart could ask them anything. Silversong made it to the middle of the territory and there was nothing there. "I was too late. Just then she heard a mewling under a fern. Silversong grabbed the kit and pulled him over to her. The kit began to purr when he felt Silversong's worm underbelly."What in starclan how did you know he was here?"Starclan sent me a dream."Otterstar led me to the kit. Lionstep looked shocked. Silversong began to purr. I will call you Coalkit. Silversong had been caring for Coalkit as though he were her own. She even slept in the nursery with him sometimes. But one morning she woke in the Warriors den and she felt awful. Lionstep was sleeping beside her and when he felt her move he lifted his head."Something wrong?"ow no she said I just don't feel good."Do you wan't me to go get Willowpelt or Dawnfur?"Lets not worry them I am sure I will feel better soon. Anyways I am going to go check on Coalkit. Silversong got up and walked to the nursery. Leopardheart had had two pretty kits a tomkit named Falconkit and a shekit named Lilykit. She was also caring for Coalkit because Silversong could not feed him. When Silversong came in Coalkit was being pinned to the ground by Brackenkit who was a moon older."Got you Meadowclan cat! Brackenkit looked at Silversong a triumph look in his eyes. Coalkit wiggled out from under him and ran to Silversong purring."Hi Silversong!"Hi Coalkit how have you been. "Well other then being tackled by brackenkit over there all is well. Silversong began to purr and she licked Coalkit between the ears."Well I need to leave ok but be good for Foxclaw and Leopardheart while I am gone. Leopardheart purred and Foxclaw laughed. Brightkit grunted when her mom started licking her and she wiggled closer to her mother. Berrykit was talking with Lilykit and they were trying to do the Hunters crouch. Silversong realized that she would have kits of her own one day.
