Somebody needs to save my from my Hadestown Craze. I love this song, but the amount of takes I recorded solely for the purpose of making sure the low notes didn't sound like trash is unhealthy. I've been fighting a battle with my vocal fry. I'm so creative with my cover, I know. Purple tint over the exact same one I used for nothing changes?! I’m like genius. Sarcasm (Seriously though, what else could I do for the cover because they’re posted like right after each other and it looks kinda silly.) This was originally I Love Play Rehearsal, but I was pretty unhappy with that, and it's not even like, a good song. It’s still in there if you’re curious, but I’m not submitting it. I’m not completely satisfied with this, so I might re-record. If that happens, it’ll happen before the 31st.
The original song is Flowers from Hadestown, sung by Eva Noblazada. The track is from CurtainUp on YouTube Lyrics: What I wanted was to fall asleep Close my eyes, and disappear Like a petal on a stream, a feather on the air Lily white and poppy red I trembled when he laid me out You won't feel a thing, he said, when you go down Nothin' gonna wake you now Dreams are sweet until they're not Men are kind until they aren't Flowers bloom until they rot and fall apart Is anybody listening? I open my mouth and nothing comes out Nothing Nothing gonna wake me now Flowers, I remember fields of Flowers, soft beneath my heels Walking in the sun I remember someone Someone by my side Turned his face to mine And then I turned away Into the shade You, the one I left behind If you ever walk this way Come and find me lying in the bed I made :) Thanks for reading this far. You're awesome. I love Hadestown. (But like, all the principles are outside my range :( ) it’s okay though, the fates have awesome songs.
