She was sick, always on the verge of death so Lady Death got to stay close. Lady Death knew she could never be with the beautiful woman, but no matter what she tried, she always though of her. Eventually the beautiful woman died in her last moments she called out to Lady Death, thanking her for watching her all this time. Lady death was shocked. Being to close to death all the time gave the beautiful woman to be able catch glimpses of Lady Death. And she loved her as well. Unfortunately, human souls have to be reaped to pass on. With tears in her haunting eyes her collected the beautiful womans soul so her could pass on knowing she would never see her again. Such a cruel story. Such a tragic story.
I sat done with a lady in the corner More beautiful than anything compared And I knew she was death. With skin as pale as paper And kind eyes as black as the night sky We began to chat Just simple conversation Friendly and light Suddenly she asked me, "Do you know why you're alive?' What a heavy question After consideration I answered "No I don't. But does anyone?" She turned and stared out the window Into the distance What longing her deathly eyes held "I suppose not," she answered She stood to leave Turning back to me "Human lives are so fragile, so brittle. Almost like they were never made to last. How very cruel" I saw a single tear leave her haunting eyes and trail down her paper skin As she left I knew what was left unspoken We aren't made to last That's the cruel and beautiful fact
