Ch. 4 Percy woke up to the sound of Nico giggling. He sat up and saw Nico was playing with his tiger plush. "Morning, buddy," he said. "Hi, Bubba!" Nico said. Percy stood. "You playing with your tiger?" he asked. Nico nodded. "I named him Stripy!" he said happily. "Sounds awesome," Percy said, kneeling down and ruffling Nico's hair. Suddenly, there was a growl. Percy jumped to his feet. "What was that?" he whispered. "Don't worry, Bubba," Nico said, "it's just my belly." Percy's eyes went wide. "You must be hungry," he said, "let's go get breakfast." Nico smiled. "Okay!"
Ch. 5 The two walked into the kitchen. Mom smiled at them. "Hello, boys," she said. "Hey, Mom,'' Percy said. "Hi, Mama!" Nico said. "I was just about to make pancakes," Mom told them. "Can I help?" Nico asked. "Of course," she told him. Nico laughed with delight and ran to the kitchen. A little while later, the three of them sat at the kitchen table, their plates stacked with blue pancakes. Percy took a bite and his eyes went wide. "What is it, Percy?" Mom asked him. "These pancakes are really, really sweet," he said. Mom turned to Nico. "Sweetie, how much sugar did you add?" Nico grinned. "4 cups, just like the recipe said." Mom facepalmed. "The recipe said 2 cups," she said. Nico's face went pink. "Whoopsies," he said. "It's fine," Percy said, "it just means the pancakes are as sweet as you, buddy." Nico giggled. "Thanks, Bubba."
