Nine bats + one raccoon = a crazy platforming adventure! You play as Ringy, the raccoon. Use the arrow keys to move. If you hold the down key on ground, you'll squat and then spring upwards. Tell us your best score in the comments!
This is a project for the "10 Squares" Scratch Design Studio! It's also my 80th project, so that's cool. This game is kind of short, I know, but I had an unknown deadline to deal with. Various ideas were originally thought up, but as time passed by, and I became more tense about when the SDS would end, ideas were dropped one by one. For this game's physics engine, I used my Colorful Platformer Base project, and tweaked it to fit better: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/113496034/ This game's music is "Fork Lifter" from the game Rhythm Heaven Fever. Early concepts that were removed: Moving platforms Bouncy platforms Different flying 'characters' -- Originally the nine platforms would be seven hummingbirds, along with two bats and a big bug as special platforms. Expanding platforms -- I have this concept art where you ground pound on the bug and he gets a ginormous mountain-sized bump on his head which you can climb onto A horizontal boost to compliment the spring jump An original physics engine -- meant to make gameplay less floaty, more reliable against glitches, and more parkour-like; this was probably the first idea to get scrapped Climbing up walls A system where levels wrap around horizontally -- removed because going to locations would be too easy A boss challenge -- At the end, one of the platform anima- you know what, maybe I'm spoiling things a bit, since I'll likely make a non-pressured remake or sequel one day.
