The girl grabbed my hand and led me to a ceiling length golden door on the left side of the room. As it opened I gasped as I saw a giant walk-in closet with gowns and dresses even the most creative people could never imagine. The floor was made of marble, with giant mirrors at the end of the closet that was so huge it could classify as a hall. There were sparkles everywhere I looked, and my mouth fell, agape. The girl turned to me, “Princess Madelyn, is everything alright?” “It’s amazing,” I whispered. “You’ve seen it many times before Princess Madelyn.” “Erm, oh! Yes! Of course! It just never gets old.” The girl smiled at me “All right then!” The girl walked into the closet, and I followed closely behind, still astonished. She walked far down the room and stopped when it seemed to turn to only blue gowns. I looked towards the end of the room where I saw a circular stage surrounded by mirrors and moved towards it. I carefully stepped onto the steep stage and looked around into the mirrors. I noticed my pajamas. I wasn’t in the plain old cream sweater and black leggings I had fallen asleep in the night before, I was in a pale pink nightgown made of silk with butterfly embroidery. How is this possible? I thought as I played with the nightgown and adjusted it in the mirror. Suddenly, the girl appeared beside me. “I have your gown for the day” She was holding a royal blue gown covered in sparkles. It was poofy and longsleeved, with flecks of gold near the waste and it had a swooping neckline. It was gorgeous. I beam, “I-it’s beautiful.” “All your gowns are something similar to this, Princess Madelyn.” “I don’t know, I just really like this one.” “I’m glad.” The girl moved towards me and pulled off my nightgown to reveal a bright white undershirt and bright white shorts that I didn’t even know I was wearing. After that, the girl walked to the side and picked up a peach colored corset. She laced it up and I felt a sensation that I had never felt before as she laced it up tighter, and tighter. I could feel my body pulled tight until I could only take in short- shallow breaths of air. Then, she slipped the gown over my head and I felt the soft, pillow-like fabric of the dress. I closed my eyes and took in a breath as deep as I could with the corset. Maybe it will be okay I think to myself. At least I get to wear beautiful gowns everyday until I figure out how to get home. I start to step off the stage but the girl pulls me back. “Oh! Princess Madelyn! I’m not done yet.” She said in the sweetest voice she could. “Oh, really?” “Yes, I need to do your hair and get you shoes.” “Yes! Uh- Of course.” The girl moved to a table near one of the mirrors and picked a jade hair brush off of it. She brushed back my fiery red locks and tightly twisted it into a tight bun. She moved back towards the table and picked up a jar made of diamonds filled with a clear, sweet-smelling gel I had never seen before. When she got back to me she rubbed the gel all over my bun, I assumed to keep it in place. She then bent over and grabbed a pair of golden heels next to the stage. She motioned for me to sit down and she brushed the skirt of the dress away and slipped the cold heels onto my feet. “All right! All done!” She stepped back and smiled, as if she was proud of her work. “Thank you so much! Er-” “Lise.” “Lise, thank you.” “It was a pleasure Princess Madelyn.” She smiled from ear to ear, “Now, you have a full schedule today.” “I do?” “Yes, you do. You need to finalize the guest list for the wedding, do a wedding cake testing, finalize the food list, get fitted for your gown, and you need to meet with Arthur to go over the wedding again.” “Arthur? Who’s that?” “Princess Madelyn, he’s your fiance.”
