Art is complex, but it can also be simple. Art is anything you want it to be, however you want to perceive it. A lot of art is emotional, inspiring or deep. However, a lot aren’t! I don’t think art has a limit to what it can be (of course the only limit is your imagination) & art is anything creative. It’s imaginative, interactive and fun in a way. Art isn’t only drawing & painting— it’s music, storytelling, sculpture, dance, collages, scrapbooking, etc! I’d even say what I’m writing right now is art. Art has no rules to it, unless you’re specifically going for realism.. which, of course, has a certain look to it. Art is subjective, and not everyone can appreciate it. I’ve seen modern art (edit 28/5/26: contemporary art, not modern art. I know the difference now) get hated on, however I believe that whatever the artist intended with it is beautiful. Of course the classic, realistic drawings may be ideal.. however they’re both beautiful in their own ways. I dislike it whenever someone is like, "oh this art is so bad! The meaning is pointless and doesn’t make sense to me!". Bro.. seriously? It doesn’t have to make sense to you to appreciate and respect it. Soo.. whenever you see a beginner artist or someone who creates modern art, please do not insult them. Their art, no matter how unattractive it may be to you, is beautiful in its own way. Art doesn’t have to be complex, realistic or even "beautiful". It can be simple, cartoonish and "ugly". Whatever’s your cup of tea, just refrain from mocking the art you dislike & instead praise the art you like. Sincerely, rae.
