suggested by @elmwze We've all felt it, we’ve all known it. FOMO. Why are we afraid of missing out? Maybe it’s curiosity. Maybe it’s an insecurity. As if missing out on a party would make everyone gossip about you. Being left out is often considered "being a loner" or an "outcast", which I think is quite.. rude, in a way. I don’t think we should be worrying so much about it. Besides, if anyone did gossip about you, they don’t deserve you anyway. Or maybe it isn’t fear of gossip. Maybe it’s the fear of missing out on something important, or fun. I get it, but it all passes anyway, right? People forget things quickly, since we’re often times more self-absorbed that we couldn’t care less. Like how things have an imaginary "time limit", you know? "Oh, that was sooo last summer!" Isn’t exactly a sentence you hear in real life, but rather in movies, I guess. Maybe that’s why we're so fast-paced. Trends used to last years, now they last days and everyone forgets about them. Anyway! I’m getting sidetracked. We're talking about FOMO here. Personally, I don’t really care about missing out on something most of the time. I think that whatever I had to do instead was more important for me in the long run. Do you have any experiences with FOMO, and what do you think of it? Sorry this felt rushed, but this is all just quick thinking really. Might look back on it, might not. Sincerely, rae.
