⋅ ─ ────「 ✿ 」──── ─ ⋅ ➤ Hello! Welcome to my DBD Manager Application! ⋅ ─ ────「 ✿ 」──── ─ ⋅ ➤ About me I'm Lyra (she/her), a 14-year-old DBDer who lives in Spain (CET/CEST timezone). I've been chatting in DBD since August 2025, which means that I've been a member of the studio for 8 months. Wow, time flies! ➤ Experience In December 2024, one of my studios got featured. I think this was a huge opportunity for me to experience how managing a bigger studio felt like. Dozens of people asked to join every day, some people tried to argue with me over whether a project was related enough... And I also had to collaborate with the rest of the managers. I'm also the host of an fairly active Astronomy Club, and I update QOTWs every week, create activities and invite people. Last February, I hosted Scratch Chaos Camp, which is an online camp with cabins (groups), daily and weekly activities, and competition and points. I updated the description every day and collaborated with 2 more people to plan all the activities and create everything we needed. ➤ Reasons for applying I am applying for manager because I think managers have to work really hard to make sure this studio is a safe place for everyone, and I want to help instead of just being there watching how others do the work. Being a manager is also an opportunity to get to know DBDers, other managers, and engage even more in the community. ➤ Why me? I think I am quite mature and responsible, but I can also be silly and chaotic. I also have a lot of experience in managing studios and interacting and helping in the Scratch community. I have a decent amount of experience with collaborating, working under pressure and handling complicated situations. And lastly, I always try my best to be kind and nice, and not to break any rules or mention things others don't feel comfortable talking about. ➤ Downsides I'm Spanish. This means that English isn't my first language. Even though I can read, write, and communicate, I might struggle to understand some expressions, colloquial language, etc. Fortunately, Scratch has helped me improve my English. A lot. I think I wouldn't have been able to write this 2 years ago, when I joined this site. Living in Spain also means that I live in the CET (or GMT+1 right now, will change next week) timezone, which can affect my activity because I might be asleep when other managers or DBDers are awake, especially when it’s afternoon for American people. This can be positive too, though, since I am awake earlier in the morning, when most DBDers are asleep. ➤ Ideas I think we could have a "welcome to DBD" studio, where new DBDers can introduce themselves and make friends without their comments getting buried in a few minutes. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if people would actually use it. I also have another suggestion, but this might be a bit hard to organize. We can have a section in the description called DBDers of the month, and a project or studio where people can nominate DBDers. Every month, 2 or 3 of these nominees become DBDers of the month, they get added to the description with a short bio written by the managers. To expand this, it could also be some kind of award, for example, the kindest DBDer, most active DBDer... Etc. ➤ Availability My general activity level is 8/10. I check Scratch every day, in the morning after I wake up, and in the afternoon. I think I can dedicate at least half an hour every day to managing DBD every day, more if necessary. ⋅ ─ ────「 ✿ 」──── ─ ⋅ And this is the end of my manager application! Thank you for reading it and for considering it! Have a nice day or night! ⋅ ─ ────「 ✿ 」──── ─ ⋅
