This poem is about those days where you feel kinda insignificant and sort of like there isn't a point of you being there. I say this a lot, but I think most people have days like that. Just remember, that's never true, and I only wrote this poem for a lack of anything else to write. More experienced poets, please give me feedback! Poem Number Twelve.
Do you ever feel like a shadow? Flat on the wall, A meaningless smudge on the floor, Moving, Walking, But not actually there? Do you ever feel invisible? Like a spectator on your own life, Watching from afar, Or through the window, But not actually there? Do you ever feel a shadow within you? You're invisible and unnoticed, So far under the radar that you can't even be seen, And it gnaws at your stomach, Like a writhing darkness? You can see your hands trembling, Feel your heart beating, But you're not actually there? Do you ever feel like a shadow? Like there should be something of worth attached to you, But the sun, Shining brighter than you, And all the stars in the sky, Wipe you from the face of the planet? Do you ever feel like a shadow?
