Today marks 10 years since I created da-ta2, which is quite a surreal thing. Think about it, not just is my main account 10, now my alt, an account I use for random small projects and other things I don't want on da-ta. And yet here we are, so, how did da-ta2 get here? Well, it started with da-ta_test, an account I made in 2015 to share test projects, then in early 2016, I created da-ta_remix, an account I used to share projects that are remixes, like contests (as I created a rule that I wouldn't make remixes on da-ta, for some dumb reason). Then later in 2016, I deleted those alts to create 4 new ones, da-ta3, da-ta4, ta_da, and you guessed it, da-ta2. While da-ta2 served as a new test account, da-ta3 acted a bit like a meme account similar to how Auriali runs and da-ta4 was a remix account. ta_da was made only because I wanted to lean into the joke that my username is "ta-da" in reverse (albeit its actually just data with a dash in the middle). Then over 2017 and 2018, da-ta3, da-ta4 and ta_da got deleted, with da-ta2 basically consolidating all of them into one, other than da-ta3, which Auriali sort of carries the torch for. The point of all of that yapping is a simple reason, a thank you, without folks caring even a little bit about what I do, I probably wouldn't have been around long enough to create all of these alts. I wouldn't be here typing on da-ta2 with over 100+ followers about how it came to be on its 10th anniversary. So thank you, much love and stay safe during these crazy, upsetting times.
