Hard to believe one of the most iconic workhorses on "The Sniff" is no longer on the high iron. History of the Pumpkin: Blt: 3/1991 as BN 9297 Renumbered BNSF 9297 after the '95 merger, repainted into the two-sided scheme shortly thereafter Then renumbered again to BNSF 1474 in 6/14 to make room for the ACe's Scrapped mid-2025 after being retired, sad no museum could have preserved it, but a great locomotive that paved the way for the orange of the BNSF that we see today.
