Uh... is this the revival of Pixar I'm seeing? Because this movie was great! I dunno, maybe they might have learned from their lesson when it came to original films, to, y'know, ACTUALLY PROMOTE THEM! And far more importantly, actually put effort into them instead of making the same cliches and the same boring twist villain plot! But, to talk about the actual movie, this was a real experience, tell ya that much. I won't spoil too much (because I low-key want you guys to go actually watch it), but in a way, while it had stuff that'd normally be made for a Dreamworks film, this is the first Pixar film in a while that felt like an ACTUAL Pixar film. There was a unique art style and animation, you got to see the world crumble by the main protagonists own wrong doings and then shape back up again and change entirely, you got to see every little character be important to the plot in some way, you didn't have a twist villain that was shoved in the middle of the script, and most importantly, you got to see arcs, character development, and a message that really sticks, especially for me. Are we looking at another good time for animated films? Because not only can't AI works be copyrighted anymore, but now that people finally got tired of remakes, unnecessary sequels and nostalgia pandering, businesses are now in their A game much more than usual, because they have to actually try again. And with Hoppers, try they absolutely did!
Supposedly this movie was written by the same guy who wrote We Bare Bears, I guess that's interesting, and based on how he did in writing this film, I seriously want him to keep writing for Pixar. Also, not gonna lie, I don't think Toy Story 5 will even be able to compare with this movie. I don't normally make these kinds of projects, especially not in this format, but after my experience in the theaters last night I just HAD to dedicate a project doing a short review for this one!
