A lot of stuff has happened over the span of the ball in a very short time, and I’ve been requested by the boss bird to summarize it, so here goes ~ANATHEMA~ https://scratch.mit.edu/users/Efferbot/#comments-405059539 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1293336904#comments-534942782 Anathema was keeping a supermassive black hole active over the ivory tower in order to ensure the arbiter doesn’t pull any arbiter Hijinks. This is why anathema was, during the early stages of the party, super sick-looking and tired. The arbiter and anathema has a big conversation on efferbot’s profile which made the arbiter good. Anathema then deactivated the black hole, and the backlash caused severe damage to their shell. They walked onto the dance floor, vomited up a ton of plasma, and collapsed. Herald quickly grabbed them and rushed them to a safe room in the coral castle. Anathema shed their shell, leaving them in their default cell form, and slept for the first time in their life. ~CRAIGORY~ https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1293336904#comments-534942782 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1293373109#comments-534952517 Craigory was on the dance floor and witnessed anathema’s destabilization. This reminded him of his dear friend, balaton. Craigory worked in the mines in the past with his friend, but both of them were trapped in a cave-in. She drank fatal amounts of ceruleum because they believed it wasn’t worth it to live. Anathema’s recent plasma expungement reminded Craigory of his dear friend’s demise, and caused him to have a panic attack. In this panic attack, he dropped his glass of lemonade, cutting up his legs with broken glass and getting lemonade in the wounds. Rictus got him up on a table, attempted to get some of the glass out, ripped off his sleeves, and bandaged craigory’s legs with them, but they were still severely injured, so Slithang moulted away the injuries (I think. 5C4M may have disjointed the injuries from him. One of the two.) and harmi talked to him out on the pier by the entrance, where we learned the whole backstory previously mentioned. Craigory then returned to the dance floor and talked to Amaya, with the intent to leave afterword. ~AMAYA~ Amaya Was Watching Several Couples Dancing on the dance floor, which made her very sad. Rictus attempted to give her a pep talk where we learned that she lost someone “very close to her” in the attack on the duke, who held the [ETHERIAL] core. Rictus seems to help her, but Craigory comes to say goodbye to her, and it causes her to break down again. Rictus gives her one last encouraging message, and she determines that it’s better to cauterize evil, rather than let it continue to exist. Anathema attempts to convince her otherwise, bringing up the arbiter’s change as evidence. Amaya is disbelieving, and claims that she’s saving the world, starting tonight. ~QUENTIN~ Hoo boy. I can’t even really link this one in its completion. Quentin has been erratic…always, really. Especially toward anathema. But recently, after asking how the herald’s (anathema’s adoptive mother if none of you knew yet) salt seeds worked, he and anathema’s feud came to a head, and following several inflammatory statements, anathema dampened his sense of pride. He was INCREDIBLY mopey, so, in an effort to get him back in a workable mood so he can be the fourth guy in their barbershop quartet, Bates holds him down and rictus happy blasts him. This, along with his preexisting grudge against anathema, causes him to begin plotting to steal the [STAR] core, the only remains of anathema’s evil mother, asterism. Rictus realizes this by talking with bates, who was hiding Quentin’s plot out of the fear of losing his friend. Rictus confronts Quentin, but Quentin overdoses rictus with stardust, making him delirious, preventing him from telling anyone (though anathema fixes this later). Quentin attempts to steal the [STAR] core, claiming that he has a spell that could destroy everyone at the gala. Anathema removes the [STAR] core via a black hole, and Quentin attempts to follow it, now poised over a black hole. He reveals that he hates anathema for an as-of-yet unknown reason, and Slithang surrounds the whole event with a bubble of moult-space, locking everyone else out. Mela’s also there, sorry, I forgot and she doesn’t do much until Quentin jumps onto her, and she anesthetizes him, after which anathema dumps him into a black hole, seemingly leaving him in a pocket universe. ~NIGHTSHADE AND ULMAK~ They’re probably having a great time ~RICTUS~ Turns out being right next to five people having a mental breakdown ain’t great for a guy who absorbs emotions. He’s gone off the deep end and started a cult. Someone should probably smack some sense into the poor guy. This is up to date as of 7:06 pm, march 21, EST
