Fly draws Mitsuba and Kou for the 2,026th time in 2026! Are we surprised? No. But are we surprised that she drew on a digital drawing tablet? Yes. *vomits* I hate speaking in 3rd person about myself. I'm gonna get a cup of water to wash that... disgusting taste out of my mouth. Alright, anyways, here's my 2,026th drawing of the gay anime boys this year. I tried a lot of new things with this piece! First, I made the light source consistent and easy to understand. In a lot of my pieces, the light source is hard to distinguish (like my PFP, for instance) or the way I shaded the characters doesn't match where the light is coming from (Like with my drawing of Miku and Luka). I dunno how good a job I did with this on the clothing, especially Kou's shoes, but you can tell from most of the skin and hair. Second, I used the technique for backdrops that I tried earlier in my previous post. I made a greyscale sketch and colored it in with the overlay blending mode, and it looks phenomenal! I was a little bit worried about how it would look because I've never done anything like it before, but it was surprisingly easy, and I managed to crank out that backdrop in under 2 hours. (Impressive! For me, at least.) I also tried out something new with the lineart. I colored it in a LOT more than I usually do, and I tried to transition it into the coloring in a lot of areas so that it matched my weird coloring style more. Overall, I'm pretty proud of this, except for the weird anatomy and perspective mistakes. I think I'm gonna take a break from drawing people for a bit and go back to my humble origins of kitties, dragons, and birds, because let's face it, I have zero understanding of how human anatomy works. At all. I've been working on it nonstop for a pretty long time now, so I think it's time to take a break and focus on what I'm good at because I am not improving. I love how dynamic and fluid I've been able to make dragons and cats lately, and my human poses are lackluster and stiff in comparison. So yeah, please enjoy the details on each slide in the notes and credits :) I'm always open to discussing my process (more than I already do *dies*) or giving tips, so if anyone wants that, just let me know in the comments! Alrighty, man 1. Finished piece My details on that are in the instructions, so I'll keep it brief. It looks great in my opinion! The only thing I hate is the questionable shading on Kou's shoes and my amateur anatomy mistakes. 2. Characters only There's not much to say, but wohoo, they get to float in my aesthetically pleasing sparkle backdrop that I've been using for a really long time! Random side note, transparent PNG drawings make me really happy to use the zooming code on, it glides seamlessly on that backdrop and AH it's so satisfying. I could click and drag the drawing around all day and never get bored. 3. No caption You want context? Too bad. 4. Somehow this is the only WIP I have??? I've never been good about saving WIPs because all my drawing apps have phenomenal cloud storage, but I had this single process photo for some reason.
