Lore here. After the initial release of Windows 2.0, sales began to slowly dip down. Windows users experienced sudden crashes, and Windows workstations were too expensive. In an desperate attempt, Microsoft released Windows 8-Bit edition (Also known as Small Edition). The sales were big, especially for cheap workstations or easy family-friendly PCs. It sold 1.1 Million copies in two years after release. 3.2 after 5 years. It was supported until 20th of May, 1998. It still is one of the greatest Operating Systems Microsoft ever made.
