Equipment: Notable Operations: ---Dorman Peacekeeping Operations in Northern Scratch Town State (1981-1984)--- *In the early 1980s, Scratch Town and the Alviet Union were particularly heated. Local border skirmishes between guerilla groups operating independently of their governments were common, particularly in the Anti-Lancer region seeking independence, causing widespread death and destruction. With international approval, the Dorman Pact deployed several neutral peacekeepers to the region to enforce STS and Alviet sovereingty and curb fighting. Hunsdera, AC, and UNOP each deployed thousands of peacekeepers. ---Operation Carpet Guardian (May 1988)--- *May 2nd, 1988, the Rug State's frequent small border strikes turned into several border incursions, and then erupted into a full on blitzkrieg of their shared border. The 2nd Carpboard-Rug war had begun. Carpboard state, overwhelmed by the sudden onslaught, called out to their nearest allies, the UNOP, for support. Paratroopers were in country by May 3rd, and units of the 11th and 28th Infantry Division had arrived by May 5th. Their stalwart defense allowed the Carpboard state to regroup and begin pushing back the Rugs. The combined effort pushed Rug forces back across the border by the end of May. An official ceasefire was declared, but UNOP forces remained stationed at the border, wary of further Rug attacks. ---Operation Rug Cutter (June-July 1988)--- *In the days following the Carpet Guardian ceasefire, an UPMAD cargo plane transporting several military officials, operating legally in Carpboard airspace, was shot down by a Rug SAM (rumors of this being a false flag have since been speculated, but there is no definitive evidence of this). This gave the UNOP a valid enough to invade Rug State. Cutting quickly through the countryside, the advance was slowed to crawl once the month long battle of Rugsburg, the nation's capital, began. After a month of urban warfare and building-to-buildings sweeps, the internationally controversial campaign ended in decisive UNOP victory. For the next 15 or so years Rug State remained a puppet of Carpboard State (with UNOP "supervision") until the 3rd Carpboard-Rug War of 2003.
