Sorry this took so long! I procrastinated on this a lot oops. Kraken Watch: Aquaphobia's Backstory Aquaphobia grew up in a small village so far from the continents that it didn't exist as far as others were concerned. He was one of the only hybrids in this village, growing up with his energetic sister as his best friend. The village was called Krakentide, because the waters around it were home to a legendary, dragon-eating monster: a kraken. The village itself was quiet, every dragon there was worried about certain death, and friends were an uncommon thing to have, for when a one of the three moons were full, the kraken swam the shores, and one or two dragons were plucked from the village, claimed by the depths of the sea. Now, he was the opposite of his bubbly, energetic sister, and he was cautious. There were few hybrids, and they were bullied often. One day, his sister did the unspeakable. She attacked one of the dragons who pushed them around. They nearly d1ed and could never fly again. The village leader needed to punish her, but Aquaphobia took the blame. "It was me. I told her to attack him. It's all my fault." "Very well, a near death action requires a near death punishment. Tonight, under the light of one the moons, you will roam the shores and do the most ancient tradition in our village: krakenwatch." Dragons murmured in the crowd. Krakenwatch was a sacred duty, that almost no one came back from. "I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die." Aquaphobia roamed the shores with an old lantern, the moons dangled overhead ominously as rain pelted his scales. Any moment now, a slimy tentacle would grab him and snatch him up, and the kraken would eat him. "It's better than my sister dying." He told himself. Then, he felt it. The slimy tentacle grabbing his leg, the smell of rot and death, then, he heard it. "I enchant this spear to go into the water and stab the idiot kraken grabbing my brother and give it a stab in the eye!" A spear whisked by, and the tenacle receded back to the shadowy depths of the sea. ~ I love this character design so much! It's such a good character and I HAD to enter! If I win him, I'll probably include him in my comic reboot as a side character or add him to my OC universe or something, IDK.
