"Riddles in the Dark" Chapter 5 for an English project - I got an A guys :) In my animation I showed chapter 5 "Riddles in the Dark" where Bilbo meets Gollum. It represents a shift in his character. In the beginning of the scene, Bilbo is lost, scared, and unsure of what to do. He awoke alone in a dark cave without any of the dwarves or gandalf. Though he does find a magic ring that grants him invisibility which he figures out. However, instead of panicking when he first meets Gollum, he agrees to the Riddle game (see bottom for more info) This is growth for Bilbo as he stays relatively calm under pressure, and manages to fend for himself without the help of the company. (Riddle Game) They each take turns asking a question. If the other person cannot guess the question in 3 tries, or come up with a question quick enough, they lose. If Bilbo wins, Gollum shows him the way out, if he loses, Gollum eats him. yes I know it isn't completely accurate to the book
