Chapter 24 Silversong woke to the meowling of Foxkit. Violetpool had named her three kits lavenderkit, Birchkit and Foxkit. Sandfur had given birth two two youngsters. Both of them were a sandy color and she named one Leafkit and one Dustkit. Silversong was proud of her kits because they were five moons and a half old. Silversong got up and walked out of the den Ashkit was growing and took up almost the whole nest and Thornkit had to sleep on the plain dirt floor while Sunny kit slept on top of Silversong. Silversong pushed out of the nursery and could see that it was a little past dawn. Silversong could tell that most of the Warriors were on patrols and she decided to watch for there returns. Silversong waited for most of the morning and all the kits were trying to get outside. Silversong heard Sandfur's voice."I better go watch them. Silversong felt sympathy for the queen and stuck her head into the nursery."I can watch them you guys rest!" Thanks Silversong. Silversong nodded and layed down. She tucked her qaws under her neatly and watched as Ashkit tackled Thornkit to the ground and Lavenderkit was about to pounce on Sunnykit who was two times bigger. Just then the camp entrance tunnel shook and Dewpelt, Foxclaw, Morningflower and Lionstep walked in each with prey in there mouths. Lionstep scanned the clearing and spotted Silversong. He grabbed a fat shrew and a mouse in his jaws. He trotted over and dropped down beside her. "Hi Lionstep how has hunting been? Silversong knew that the prey was plentiful in New leaf."Its been great! Just then Sunnykit let out a Squeal of delight. She bolted over to Lionstep and pounced on his tail. Ashkit jumped on him and began hitting him with his paws. Lionstep rolled over playfully and fell to the ground."You have beat me oh no I am sorry Silversong but you are left with these trouble makers all the time. Lionstep began to purr. Lavenderkit was staring with amusement. Foxkit and Birchkit watched with laughter and Dustkit and Leafkit were washing themselves. Just then Mistpelt, Brightleaf, Thistletail and Frogleap came into camp fur bristled. "There is a fox in the territory! Silversong leaped to her feet."Kits come its time to go in! All the kits obeyed except Ashkit."I can rip them to shreds! Silversong grabbed him by the scruff and put him in her nest. "Stay she growled and don't leave the den! Sandfur and Violetpool will watch you. Silver song headed out of the den and Spottedstar had come out of her den. "Dewpelt, Foxclaw, Mistpelt, Thistletail, and I will go drive it away! Before anyone could say anything she headed out of camp and the Warriors she had called followed her. Silver song thought of one thing. The fox had to go.
