the stadler flirt trainsets don't look ugly to me or anything but they just don't belong anywhere on surfliner or coaster/sprinter tracks. you can take away the surfliner f59phis and coaster f40phs away from us, but stadler trains on amtrak and nctd tracks are just unacceptable.
