hello axolotls:P part 7! Delphine left with the moon and stars. She trailed through the mossy forest, following the songs of birds. Her bare feet were cut from sharp rocks, her face and clothes were covered in sweat and dirt, and she had no idea where she was going. So far, so good. The forest was enchanting in the moonlight. Delphine had no idea why she hadn’t noticed it before. The moonlight brought animals she had never seen during the day, By the time the sun was creeping into the sky, the trees and animals were becoming fewer, and the soil beneath her feet turned to patches of mossy cobblestone. Soon, she was standing between the last trees in the forest. Ahead of her was a field of short, golden grass, shining blindingly in the sunlight. Fiery gold as far as the eye could see. Cutting through the middle of the field was a gray cobblestone road, leading to the horizon. As the warm sun glinted on her eyes, she squinted at the horizon. She could just make out the silhouettes of… houses. Delphine slowly stepped backward, retreating into the shadow of the trees. People. They might as well have been creatures from a far away land. Her eyes went wide with fascination as she observed the silhouettes in the distance. She grabbed onto the tree with shaking hands. All her life she had longed to be around other people, but she suddenly found herself holding back. At the worst time possible, a wave of doubts washed through her mind. Would they know she was a prophetess? Would they even notice her? Trembling, Delphine took a deep breath and stepped towards the sunlight. She emerged from the shadows, and the sun shined onto her blue eyes, making them twinkle like gems. She boldly stepped forward. A decision that would change her life forever. One way or another. She started walking down the cobblestone path. Then, her walk sped up, step by step. Soon, she was sprinting down the road, her long hair flowing behind her in the wind, shimmering in the sunlight like the field of wheat. As she ran, the blur of houses and people on the horizon became more and more clear. Her breath, her heartbeat, and her feet sped up with each passing moment as she ran down the road towards the town- then she came to a sudden stop when she was met with a low stone wall, a wide open gate in the middle of it. WIt one step, she would enter the town and change…. Everything. The air was still, the golden light gleaming onto everything as she stood in the middle of the gate. Delphine took a deep breath and closed her eyes. Her new life begins at last. She delicately raised her bare foot… and took her first step into the town. She walked down the broken cobblestone path, feeling the warm stone underneath her bare feet, which were raw and cut from running through the forest. At first, there were only a few houses, stretched out in between golden fields of dry grass and wheat. But the farther Delphine walked, the closer the houses were together, the more people lined the streets, and the less safe she felt. This place was a bustling menagerie of carts and carriages speeding through narrow streets, people shouting furiously around every corner, and elegant buildings flocked with crowds. It was the most people she had ever seen in one place. Ever.
