At the very least, please read misc / trivia as it contains design notes ^^ ] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "I'd rather be a monster than an arrogant god." - BASICS - Name : Cricketcry (previously Cricket / Cricketsong) Gender + Pronouns : Genderqueer (They/Them Species : Cat Orientation : Pansexual/romantic Rank (AD) : N/A (No Clan) - PERSONALITY / SUMMARY - Cricketcry is self-described as a deeply damaged cat, a description that you can't really blame them for having after all they've been through. Their personality has shifted greatly over the course of their story, originally having started out as a Chosen hiding behind a forced smile, using the beliefs they were taught as an excuse for any mistreatment that came their way. Upon their demotion though, they became a shell of that former self, suffering harassment day after day, moon after moon- and all based on a lie. After that, their life became full of betrayals, whether it be the scars that lace their neck or the abandonment from the cat who taught them the skills that made them the lethal cat they are today. But throughout all of it, all of the trauma and deceit, they still remained faithful to the stars Herself, a devotion that carried more guilt than words can describe. The idea that they were evil, a sinner, *accursed*, followed them wherever they went, even if there were no cats in sight to be spitting such insults. Every mistake of theirs, every perceived 'treason' to not only Coalstar but their former mentor as well, lend them credibility that they were what everybody said they were: rotten. Even during their era of tyranny over the British Clans, these thoughts still dismayed the starfallen cat. Between their intense trust issues, shame, guilt, and god complex they had come to develop after their near-drowning at the paws of Seraph, it's hard to imagine a world where such a cat found peace. And yet, they did. They got better, they found healing, and most importantly, they found safety. For the first time in their life, they weren't in a state of constant hypervigilance, able to finally develop a sense of self that was their own, rather than one built solely off the backs of what others had done to them and the taxing life they had been through thus far. As with almost everything in their life though, this wasn't the end, as it took a mere 10 moons for this peace to be stripped away from them. It seemed like they were back to square one, forced to work for yet another cat's personal gain. In the end, Cricketcry got their long-awaited revenge for such a slight, but in the process, met their own demise. Now, they found themself in a dark, decrepit hell, a place of little rest and torturous, vivid episodes. Hopelessness and unreality was rife in the darkness that was the Below, and from where they were standing, there was no way out of the ordeal they had become trapped in. And, right when the star without a fate had given up, they were brought a message, a truth that could change everything: peace was possible.
