I was staring out the window at the changing scenery when my dad called my name. “James! We’re going to stop for gas in about an hour, do you want to buy an ice cream?” “Huh? Oh yeah, sure.” I replied “What kind?” he asked “Vanilla. Or cookies and cream.” He smiled and chuckled, “Staying predictable, are we?” I nodded, and went back to staring out the window. Soon enough, I fell asleep. I woke up to the smell of a vanilla ice cream. “Wake up, sleepyhead.” My dad laughed, handing me the ice cream I rolled my eyes and tore off the wrapper. The first bite was perfect. Creamy vanilla ice cream melting in my mouth. “Thanks dad.” I mumbled, my mouth still full of ice cream “It’s good.” He smiled, and turned around to go back to driving. My mom hit play on the audio book, and I finished off the ice cream. I pulled on my headphones and turned on a shuffle of Hamilton. It started with The Reynolds Pamphlet, and I scrambled to hit the skip button. The Reynolds Pamphlet is my second to least favorite Hamilton song, with my least favorite obviously being Say No to This. Thankfully, the song that came on next was Aaron Burr, Sir, one of my favorite Hamilton songs.
