The day was full of Alfonzo pulling me around and going to various places in the palace to do wedding-based activities. At the wedding cake testing I ate red velvet, lemon, strawberry, chocolate, and even more cakes, ultimately deciding on the lemon. Then I had to pick the foods I wanted. There was a decadent buffet laid out, with seafood, fruit, meat, vegetables and more, all delicious. I chose a mix of seafood and different fruits that must have been magical, because they somehow tasted sweet like candy, and were rainbow colors. Then, I had to get fitted to my wedding gown. It was gorgeous, even more than the blue gown I was wearing. It was cloud white with embroidery of hearts and sparkles on it, with pearls and a floofy skirt. And after that whole day, I forgot that I wasn’t the princess of Sandrium, and I almost looked forward to the wedding, even though I was only 13. Only a couple hours in, and Sandrium had already started to get a hold on me. That was, until my meeting with Arthur. Me and Alfonzo walked into a pearly white room decorated with silver where Arthur was standing and beaming at me. “Madelyn! I’ve been looking forward to our meeting all day!” He said happily. “Oh! Yes!... me too.” I lied. He motioned for me to sit in a silver chair next to him. I walked over and sat down, trying to not make eye contact with Arthur. He seemed sweet and all, but I didn’t even know him, and he was acting like we’ve been in love for years. “So, Princess Madelyn, Prince Arthur, I need to make sure that you’re still planning on this,” Alfonzo started, “Prince Arthur enters on a brilliant white steed, and Princess Madelyn enters with butterflies flying all around. And as you say your vows, we release doves and glitter all around, correct?” “Sounds perfect!” Arthur exclaimed. Doves, a white steed? I think. That's way too much. And I shouldn’t even be concerned about that! I should be thinking about how to get out of this wedding and out of this world! I started bouncing my legs, which I always did when I was worried. Arthur looked at me, “Madelyn darling, are you okay?” I dared to look him in the eyes, in his pretty, deep hazel eyes, “I-I…” I didn’t know what to say. “I think we should postpone the wedding!” I blurted out. Alfonzo’s eyes widened, “What! But Princess Madelyn! We’ve been planning this for ages! We have guests coming! The kingdom is rejoicing! Everyone is excited! We can’t postpone it!” “W-well, I… It’s just, I don’t think it’s the right time! You know, I’m just not feeling well and…” I looked at Arthur and bit my lip. I wanted to say, I don’t know this boy, he seems sweet but I don’t know him, and I’m only 13 and he’s only 13. I can’t marry this boy. But I knew I couldn’t say that. I just kept staring at Arthur, speechless. “Madelyn,” Arthur said softly. Alfonzo leaned forward and grasped my arm, “Princess Madelyn, there’s no time to change everything! You need to get married tomorrow!” I moved my arm away from him, “I just… can’t…” “Princess Madelyn, you HAVE to!” Alfonzo said, getting frustrated. Then, I got up out of my chair, and ran out of the room.
