hello so uhm Im kinda just slow and stuff but I just recently noticed something about colors so essentially if you want a lighter version of a color, when you turn up the brightness of the color you also need to turn down the saturation of that certain color in order to have a color that still works with the previous. for instance, if I had a sage green and then I wanted a lighter sage green i'd need to also make it less "green". and then its vice versa for darker colors, wherein the saturation must be turned up to accommodate for the darkening. anyway I didn't rly do much testing on this so yeah not a very concrete claim now is it wait nvm it is color-theory-wise proven lol idk it legit took me 2-3 years of digital art to figure this out smh ToT
