caps TW "...for the people who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions - everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses." -Juvenal, 100 AD A split mollie steps from the shadows -one half dark gray, the other a fiery orange. Her mismatched eyes, blue and yellow, glint in the dim light. Diamond horns curve from her head, catching the glow just right, shimmering faintly as if lit from within. She smiles, a tight-lipped, no-teeth smile. It doesn’t reach her eyes. “Welcome to the Circus, darling,” the she-cat purrs, a soft accent curling through her voice like the fog that surrounded the clearing. “If you want to secure your clan’s future, I’d suggest joining us. It’s always better to be with us than against us, no?” Welcome to the Circus. Here, Grandeur has accepted Sorastar’s place within her family and seeks to work alongside him to secure Urchinclan’s safety. She also believes that the other clans should follow Urchinclan’s lead, as they are, quite obviously, the superior clan. Well…actually, only half of that is true. Some of that is a lie Grand sells to her clanmates to get them under her control. Grandeur lives by a familiar saying: “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” She views Sorastar -and her father, Tortrixblight- as threats to her future. She also sees Sorastar as the one who tore her family apart, the reason why her mother and father aren't together anymore. However, none of this is known INRP. This information remains strictly OORP unless Grandeur chooses to reveal it herself. It should not be guessed or theorized in-character. But there is no need for concern. Within the Circus, everyone is family -or as close to it as one can be. Each cat has a role in the Circus, some more important than others: The Ringmaster (Grandeur) - The one who runs everything. She maintains order and ensures the Circus never falls into chaos. The Ring-Bound (Inner Circle) - These cats are closest to Grandeur. She has known them for the longest time, and trusts them with her life. If you get in this group, you are pretty much the equivalent to the deputy of a clan. They advise her, and act as enforcers and messengers between clans. Performers (Cats with 50+ fighting) - Encouraged to fight in the Arena of Urchinclan, or, if unable, to establish smaller, mini-arenas within their own clans (with or without leader approval). Vendors (Cats who hunt 10+ threads per week) - Given the task with ensuring consistent food supply for their clans through increased hunting efforts than the normal warrior. Security (Cats who patrol 10+ threads per week) - Responsible for maintaining safety and preventing safety fails. The Masked (Cats with 30+ stealth) - Responsible for looking for any leaks within the groups, any fakes, or rumors. They also help ruin other cat's reputations if needed. The Curtain-watchers (Cats with 40+ fighting and 30+ stealth) - These cats quietly extinguish any leaks, and handle problems before they become public. Must be willing to k1ll cats if needed. The Spotlights (Cats who are successful Arena fighters or influential in some way) - They are the public voice of the Circus. Their lives are public in every way -family, lovers, reputation. Especially used in propaganda. HIERARCHY: Ringmaster Ring-Bound The Masked The Curtain-Watchers The Spotlights Performers Security Vendors
