Why do cars on a highway create a rumbling ambiance? How is it possible that you can hear when Frank grunts? Here's a demonstration of how sound waves travel! Imagine each blue dot as an air particle. When you play a song on the piano, the air vibrates at different speeds depending on the pitch. Zoom in to get a better visualization of the different tones.
