warning! The following features mentions of death, violence, and quite extreme emotions as well as some semi-heavy themes! Please proceed with caution! || Ok thought I’d put that there, it’s honestly not that bad imo but js wanna be safe yk? :) To all of those who are still reading…good luck. || Snapdragon’s claws were a blur as he struggled under the other cat’s grip. A mere apprentice, but his wound from the wolf was still weighing him down. Briniclepaw, he thought he’d heard her call herself, had him pinned, relentlessly clawing at his exposed wound again…and again…and again. He cried out, doing everything in his power to squirm free, maybe aim a good jab at her if he could. But he had never fought anyone before!!! He didn’t know how to do this! Willow hadn’t ever told him about how /terrifying/ it was to finally be in the face of battle! And the worst part was…in her eyes, he saw glee, pure pleasure as she ripped into him. Finally, she held a claw to his throat, her grin widening somehow as he finally stopped wriggling. “Do you accept defeat!?” She growled into his ear. Snap took only a moment’s hesitation to respond. Defeat!?? To an enemy warrior!? An apprentice, no less!? “I’d rather die a warrior than live as a coward,” he hissed, animing another blow at her. She dodged swiftly, shaking her head in mock regret as her pupils narrowed to slits. “So be it!” She replied, sounding almost…happy as she raised her paw into the air, her claws glinting dangerously. Snap didn’t remember much of what happened next. Just…that there was pain. So, so much pain. Her claws ripped into him, reopening his old wound from fighting the wolf. He knew, even as he watched the apprentice flee the scene, that it was hopeless. His breaths were shallow and forced, his limbs twitching as he stared blankly up at the sky. The sky…hadn’t he done a painting of that once, with Sonya? He frowned. It was all so fuzzy…NO. He was Snapdragonflame of Pyro…of unclaimed…of FLURRYCLAN. He had a mate, a family, and…a life he had finally started to like. As the image of Soya formed in his head, he smiled, though there was nobody around to see. Her eyes, deep blue, looked gently at him. Sonya…he had to get up! For her! With a grunt, Snappie dug his claws into the ground, truing not to cry out in pain as he pulled himself forward half a tail-length. Then another half. Then a full tail length. He’d almost made it back to camp when he finally stopped—but he wasn’t aiming for camp. He finally sheathed his claws with a grunt of effort as he laid back, listening to the soft wind rustle the dandelion field around him. They…they would know where to find him, right? He…he hoped so. “Sonya, my love…please forgive me…” he whispered. “I never meant—” he winced as a sharp jab of pain spiked near his injuries, “I never meant for it to end this way. Know…know I don’t regret a single moment of our time together.” He inhaled slowly, the effort of that single shallow breath blurring his vision. At least…he would get to see Wolfie and Gold again… He was a warrior, yes…but would anyone care that he was gone? His gaze hardened as he returned his gaze to the sky, giving the world one last crooked smile of his. “A true warrior…” he croaked, “A true warrior…is never forgotten…” his eyes fluttered closed, and his body stilled. So was the end of the fallen flower… || Whelp! What a ride that was! Don’t worry guys, I still plan for him to be active as a df ghost! If possible, he’d love to mentor any *ahem* relatives that are STILL FREAKING ALIVE- GOSH. And I also plan for his trauma to have made him mooore than slightly insane as a ghost ;3 so that’ll be fun. Ngl his death did not come at a good time for me…life’s been kinda rough for me lately. But I guess a fresh start could be good for me. Only time will tell, I suppose. A special thanks to , we had so much fun deviously planning Bane’s and Snap’s interactions and I honestly had an awesome time through it all Thanks so much to ! Willowglade was a super fun mentor to help shape Snap’s personality and *ahem* questionable ethical decisions, and it was really fun. Tho he was mentor to like 50 apprentices lol. Thanks to , , and Even though it didn’t last long, you helped shape Snap’s kithood and even apprenticehood. And last but not least, a special thanks to — for giving Snap such an adorable partner <3 Sonyasong had a huuuge impact on Snap’s life, and he’ll be thinking of her lots during the practically infinite time he has to…well, be dead! That one time they drew one another was so fun to write, and their final interaction in the flower field(which, though unplanned, couldn’t have been a better farewell interaction), was just so adorable ? I’m probably forgetting so many of you but if you’re reading this, you probably helped shape Snap’s character at some point or another! Thanks to all of you readers for sticking around this long.
Extra details! Accessories: Snap leaves his dandelion accessory to Sonyasong, may she forever remember him in the fields where they confessed. Snap will be keeping the dandelion he was gifted form Wolfie into ghosthood as honestly it looks so cool and I wanna keep that part of him alive, even if he isn’t :’> And lastly, to Equinoxkit and Solsticekit, Snapdragonflame leaves two unofficial accessories for them: -for Solsticekit, a bracelet/large ring of vines that Snappie twisted together and dipped in yellow flower dye to make a little golden halo. -for Equinoxkit, Snappie twisted together a similar bracelet/large ring of vines that je twisted together and dipped in black flower dye in a little ring of shadow. May Snapdragonflame be remembered in the hearts of all warriors who dare to be as courageous as him, to face death itself and laugh in its face. To give so, so much, and never expect anything in return. And above all, to remember that sometimes… … … … … … … Sometimes, ya just gotta paint! Also, as far as Snap’s ghost look, I haven’t decided yet! We’ll see tbh! :D
