Originally, the facility was a top-tier genetic research lab funded by a shadowy conglomerate. Their public goal was curing feline diseases, but their private project, Project: Bastet, aimed to weaponize domestic cats by enhancing their speed, intelligence, and predatory instincts using "hyper-adaptive" DNA.
