1: What story will you be using to answer these questions? How would you quickly describe the storyline? Daughter of the king is born with dangerous powers and is basically forced into seclusion. She escapes and starts her journey across the seas and back. 2: What inspired your story? I had to write a creative writing piece for an assignment earlier in the year. I loved it and was trying to find a worthwhile storyline to continue writing about. 3: Does it take place on Earth or in a made up land? In what time? A made up land. The country is called Ashyn (for those who may know about my OC Rhys, this is a different world) It's similar to Navarre in Fourth Wing. The world is currently un-named. 4: What’s a favorite place in your story and the events that happen there? Fortune's End - A pirate/Raider trading port. This is where my main character gets her sidekick. (Later mentioned). 5: Who is your protagonist? What is their mission? Her name is Asenia Shadowmourne. 6: Who is the most underrated character in your story and why? A crew mate named Robyn. She's the quiet, but extremely skilled and faithful friend. 7: What two characters have the most interesting relationship (good or bad)? Ivan (the first mate of the ship) and Asenia. They respect each other and all, but underlying trust issues are very real. 8: What are the conflicts of the story? Do you have villains? She discovers she has a sibling closer to the end, she has to fight her dad (after she'd been kidnapped and escapes but comes back for revenge purposes etc.), and eventually has to burn the capital 9: Which character is the most misunderstood? Probably Ivan. He's sweet but gruff 10: Is there a character the most like you (or even based off you)? What qualities do you share? Rase. The MMC. He's confident but somewhat closed off. He cares about the things he loves and will fiercely protect them. he's somewhat shy tho. 11: Is there an animal sidekick? Yes. Two birds of prey named Aegis and Vidar 12: Who or what acts as the comedic relief? TBD 13: What is the underlying message or moral of the story? Sometimes bad is good. Embracing every part of yourself is important for living life to its fullest. 14: What are some symbols or hidden meanings you have placed? TBD 15: What genre would you consider your story? Mainly Fantasy. Maybe action and romantasy. 16: What type of media is your story (book, animation, movie, play, etc)? Book. I originally planned on doing a novella but I'm hoping for a full length print. 17: What’s a song that matches an event or character in your story? Missing Piece by John Michael Howell. It gives romantasy vibes but the overall pirate/raider vibe describes the book perfectly. 18: Is it a cast of people, animals, or both? Only human perspectives but there are animals. 19: What’s something funny or ridiculous that happens? TBD ( I did say in the notes that I'm still on draft one so a lot of this is still being worked on. ) 20: What’s the biggest obstacle your protagonist must overcome? She has to overcome her fear of her magic. She isn't afraid to use it but she is afraid of hurting someone without meaning to. She also has to realize that she doesn't have to be the person everyone told/thought her to be. So definitely a lot of emotional obstacles. 21: Does anyone die? How does it change things? Yes. two that I know of for sure. One, who's de happens in a flashback and obviously the king. This is a standalone novel so then main evil is vanquished. 22: Which character would you choose to be your friend? Who would you not get along with? I would choose Robyn as my friend. She has a quiet-ish personality but isn't afraid to be her true self, and I think everyone needs a friend like that. 23: If any, what weapons are used? Magic, sabres/swords, longbow 24: How does your story differ now from when you first started making it? She originally wasn't going to go on this whole journey as in the current plot. In my OG plot, she would eventually become captain and such, while being together with the original captain, Rase. Obviously it was meant to be focused on the whole romantasy thing, but I wasn't all that into it, so it changed quite a bit. 25: What’s something interesting about your story that wasn’t asked about? She is a siphon. Her parents don't have magic and neither does her sibling (whom she has no idea about until late in the book), but as the firstborn twin, she was cursed because of something her dad did.
