I am considering leaving Scratch forever. Nothing is final yet, but it is in my mind. Not because of anything the other scratchers have done. They have done so much to inspire and support me while on my Scratching journey. There are multiple reasons. First, (by the way, the right to protest is in the first amendment of the US Constitution), I am leaving to protest the use of AI in Scratch. AI is becoming too much these days, and I'm afraid it could impact the Scratch community. If AI continues on its current path, other new scratchers will not be able to experience Scratch the same way all of us have experienced it before the use of AI. Secondly, my life has been really booked lately, and I am not as active on Scratch as I used to be. I miss those experiences when I first joined Scratch and enjoyed playing games and watching animations that were beautifully created by hardworking scratchers. I have learned much from this journey and I will miss all of it. The animations, the games, the friendships. I may still do some things every once in a while but for the most part, I will be gone. I did not join Scratch just for the views, followers, or fame. I joined to have a good time and enjoy myself as I worked my way through the first difficult years of my life. I hope that Scratch will do the same for new scratchers. Thank you to all of my supporters who have got me to this point, 64 followers might not seem like much, but to me, I am just thankful that you guys got me past 30. Thank you to the Scratch team that keeps this program updated and safe for all people. Goodbye, and I wish you all well.
