Sunpaw paced the apprentice den, my mentor ceremony hadn't gone as I liked. "Heya Sunpaw! See ya' on the training grounds, yeah? Darkwood is taking me out to see the territory!" Mewed my overbearing brother, Skypaw. "Oh, yeah, sure" I mewed, with a strained tone, and probably the most fake smile anyone could conjure. My brother smiled and trotted off to his training session with his new mentor. It wasn't fair he was apprenticed to Darkwood, our deputy! And who was my mentor? Ratwhisker. I got the oldest, smelliest, grumpiest mentor in all the clans! While my brother was off doing the cool stuff. It filled me with a rage I could only describe as pure hatred. "That was amazing!" chirped another voice from beside me. Moonpaw, my other brother, was cheerfully bouncing beside me. "Mom is my mentor! So cool!" He cheered. Our mother, Lillypond, was a strong warrior, and a fine mentor. But I certainly wouldn't tell Moonpaw that. "Pffft, she was the only one that would take you. No wonder mommy had to step in to help her pathetic excuse for a son." I retorted, Moonpaw flinched and his ears flattened to the back of his head. "But... she told me that I'm gonna be a great warrior! She believes in me lots!" Moonpaw said in defense, pathetic. "Awww, what, a, darn, shame." I mocked, pretending with a pouty voice and sad eyes. "She's our mom. Of course she would lie to you to make you feel better. Since /clearly/ you're the lesser of her three sons." I said, brushing some dust from my chest, refusing to meet my brother's gaze. "...really? Do you-" Moonpaw was cut off. "YES. I DO. You're a little /curse/ Moonpaw! Why do you think Starclan gave you that jet black pelt anyways! You look nothing like me or Skypaw. And we look plenty alike. You don't even look like mom or dad! I'm not even sure we're even family!" I hissed, a cold hatred glazing my tone. 'Wait...' I thought to myself 'I could use his insecurities to my advantage. Maybe he can help me get rid of that brat Skypaw once and for all.' There were small tears forming in Moonpaws eyes as I backed him up against the apprentice den walls. "But... since I'm such an amazing brother, I'll help you." I mewed smoothly, backing away and ruffling Moonpaw's hair. "What-" he sniffed "-can you do? I wanna get rid of this curse! I really do!" Moonpaw sniffled, shuffling closer to me. "Well, Skypaw would like to help too, why don't you go find him for me and bring him to the glade. Then we can all meet together and train so we can become the best warriors this clan has ever seen! /Without/ our mentors help." I cooed, I watched as a spark ignited in my brothers eyes. "Yeah! Then mom won't lie to me anymore once we're the best! I'll go get him!" Moonpaw raced off, I watched him go, waving my paw lethargically as he disappeared, clambering down the apprentice den tree. 'Perfect.' I thought to myself 'Now where did Sweetpaw say those deathberries were....?'
