(press space to cycle between the art and the diagrams.) C-24-47 Devorator Navium, or more commonly known as "Boat Eaters" are incredibly large worm-like creatures, resembling sandworms. They are given the Creature organism class designation because they are considered to be normal living creatures, with only a very small amount of anomalous properties. They feature a long, segmented body with brown skin with a rough rocky texture, many spikes protruding out of their skin, and a large humanoid mouth, with an upper and lower jaw with multiple sets of teeth. The first row is large and rounded near the front, the rest are deeper in the mouth and are smaller and sharper. They also feature a harpoon like appendage protruding out their top jaw made out of bone. Boat Eaters were first discovered in August 1996 by Nullcorp. There were many reports of boats going missing in the Pacific ocean, and strange anomalous readings were detected. Containment team #42B were dispatched to the location to investigate, and found a colony of wild Boat Eaters nested in the western Pacific Ocean. The Boat Eaters living there were swiftly contained and sent to the Nullcorp storage dock #53 to be experimented on for research. 84 Mature Boat Eaters, 127 Juvenile Boat Eaters, and 1 queen Boat Eater were contained. Boat Eaters live in Hives with a singular queen much like bees. They prefer to live in cold water anywhere from 28 degrees to 42 degrees Fahrenheit or -2.3 degrees to 5.6 degrees Celsius, but can survive on land for up to 3 hours via stored oxygen. They breathe via gills near their mouths, and are able to get MUCH more oxygen out of water than most ocean living organisms. They take so much oxygen that they have a specialized organ for storing excess oxygen. They commonly surface to feed on boats and ships of all kinds, but prefer wooden boats. It is currently unknown truly how or why Boat Eaters eat large wooden boats and get nutrients from it, but it is assumed that Boat Eaters have incredibly strong digestive systems, allowing them to eat and break down the nutrients in wood no problem all the time. There is the possibility that they evolved to eat wood. Juvenile Boat Eaters like to gnaw on random objects and eat small logs, and like to make some form of "trading system." If another organism or sometimes even another juvenile Boat Eater presents the juvenile with an object, the juvenile will take the item and give the organism another item in the juvenile's possession that they believe is roughly worth the same. Despite the Boat Eater's unkindly appearance, many staff have Juvenile Boat Eaters as pets because they are very warm, cuddly, and make cute noises. Many Juvenile Boat Eaters have been put in break rooms for this purpose recently. Mature Boat Eaters are a tad more aggressive, but only attack to protect their offspring, and will usually not eat living organisms unless starving. It is recommended for staff to try and avoid Mature Boat Eaters unless doing experiments and research just to be safe. Boat Eaters are incredibly hard to contain, so there are many Boat Eaters roaming the facility at the time of writing this document. Boat Eaters cannot see, and rely on echolocation, so hiding is futile. It is instead recommended to make sharp turns while escaping, as Boat Eaters are incredibly fast going in a straight line, but have a very hard time turning around sharp corners.
