This is a project I’ve decided to make considering our sign up counts are rising. Lack of research can be a problem in roleplays, especially when illnesses are misrepresented, which can lead to drama and harmful stereotypes. To avoid this, I’ll outline what requires research and what doesn’t. I won’t be too strict on what requires research and what doesn’t, as at the end of the day warrior cats is simply a fantasy world. While I will ensure that harmful stereotypes or disrespectful portrayals are avoided, not every character trait needs to be overly researched. What to research: Conditions that real people experience, especially if they affect daily life or are often misunderstood. Eg. Blindness/limited vision, deafness/hearing loss, missing limbs/deformities, chronic pain/mobility issues or mental disorders Research should provide a basic understanding of what the condition is, causes and effects, limitations to the character, and how the character would adapt. What you don’t have to research: Some traits are mostly visual or minor health quirks, or if you already have the disability. These don’t have to be thoroughly researched as long as you consider overall limitations and avoid stereotypes. But please do a quick search on if the train you chose would cause pain/harm to a cats life. Eg. Scars, missing tail tip, crooked ear, healed injuries, protruding fangs, etc Banned conditions: I have banned some conditions because there might not be enough research/ are sensitive topics which would make it hard to portray within a roleplay. This includes psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia or BPD, self-harm related injuries, and severe degenerative diseases. If you are unsure, ask me :)
