This Scratch project is a part of a story series. You can read the story down below in the "Notes and Credits".
{Setting: Crisis City} Nova senses Silver using his powers and peeks to see him fly up, with Blaze bounding up to one of the skyscraper roofs with ease. As he soars away, the cat tails after him with quick leaps across buildings. Nova: … *lowers her ears with a concerned look* That girl wasn’t apart of the original timeline…and I didn’t see her in my visions either. *her tail curls close* This isn’t good. Meanwhile, Silver brings Blaze back to his rundown home, and watches her look it over as she takes small steps inside. As promised, when the hedgehog continues to badger her with questions, she answers them all without hesitance. Silver soon learns that Blaze isn’t from his world— though he had certainly already gotten the impression the young lady wasn’t from around here. She has arrived from another dimension, where she is the guardian of a set of seven emeralds known as the sol emeralds. Silver: *sitting on the ground as he listens intently, eating from a can of his food rations* Blaze: *sitting on his cushion he insisted on giving to her* …the sol emeralds are the ones responsible for me arriving here. They revealed your struggle to me and suggested that I come to your aid. Silver: *though he’s clearly not fully understanding, he nods as he listens* Without bothering the silver hedgehog with all of the details, she tells him about how their worlds were nearly destroyed in the past by merging with one another, and how she received help from another hedgehog to save their dimensions. The cat theorizes it’s possible her emeralds would like her to help the hedgehog’s world as thanks for his deeds, but she can’t say for sure. She has yet to fully come to understand the emeralds she guards. As she speaks about the hedgehog from the past, Silver notices a faint blush to her face and an admiration in her eyes. Once Silver’s questions were answered, he gladly accepts the cat’s offer of help. And for the first time in many years, the hedgehog was graced with company by his side. Though at first the constant companionship was strange to have, it wasn’t long before Silver grew close to her. Even with having lived in the world far longer than her and had more experience with Iblis, her aura of confidence and knowledge drew him to looking at her for guidance. But even with her help…the pair would still struggle against Iblis, and the markings continued to stretch across Silver’s wall. Silver: *makes another mark, then plops onto a cushion with a frustrated sigh.* …hm? *notices black smudges across his boots.* ! … *grabs an old rag, and after spitting on it, he begins to clean his shoes.* Blaze: *sits down as well with shut eyes as she lets herself rest after the long fight* … Silver: *staring at the boots as his cleaning slows* … *glances up at Blaze then back down * …uh… *his eyes awkwardly dart about* …hey…Blaze? Blaze: Yes Silver? *her eyes open and look to him* Silver: …can I talk to you about something? Blaze: Of course. *small nod* Silver: I…uh…well— I found these boots a while ago when I was looking for new shoes, after my old ones had fallen apart. I usually would wear anything I could find in good shape, but for some reason… He shuts his eyes as he thinks back. Vividly he recalls finding himself in a disheveled mall, browsing the clothes, searching for something in tact, when he stumbled across a mannequin. It wore a navy blue dress with a stripe of white going down the body all the way to the skirt, then the waist, and the edges of the skirt of the dress had an accent of teal. On the feet it wore the navy boots that perfectly matched the dress it was paired alongside. Silver: …I don’t know why, but…I felt like I had to have them— heheh… *shyly chuckles* …strange, right? I still wonder why I felt that way about a random pair of shoes. *he glances back at her sheepishly* Blaze: *staring at him with a gentle gaze* …hmm, is it possible they remind you of something? Silver: *thoughtful expression* Uh…um…maybe? I don’t know. I don’t…think I remember anything like these. *looks over the boots* Blaze: *watches his eyes shift about as he thinks, and sees his brow tighten* How well do you remember your past? Silver: . . . *his mouth opens, but he shuts it back as his head tilts downward* Blaze: …do you remember your parents? Silver: *low tone* …no…I don’t remember anything about them. Blaze: *nods again with an empathetic appearance to her eyes* …I don’t have any memories of mine either. I lost my family when I was very young. *looks out into the city* From what I understand, it’s believed the reason we can’t recall certain memories is because our minds protect us from upsetting past events…but though the memories seem lost, they will always remain with us. So while you do not know why you are drawn to something, it may be that it reminds you of something or someone from your past that you are not able to consciously remember. *softly touches her necklace*
