yeah, i know this isn't my typical kind of project, but after something that happened today, i felt it was best to talk. --- TW: mentions of a near car crash, reckless driving --- to the people seeing this who can already drive, are learning to drive, or just can't drive but see stuff about it on the internet: don't speed, and please try not to get impatient when other people don't go as fast as you'd want them to. --- Long story short, my friend didn't realize the area she was in had a speed limit of 65 mph (gps was taking her in the wrong directions so she was stressed out to begin with), and people were trying to get around her. One person had a pick-up truck with a giant trailer bed connected to it. This truck went INTO the grass around her (outside of the lane), swerved in front of her, and almost hit her car. She had to swerve herself into the left lane, where people behind her were still going increasingly fast, and she almost crashed there too. Is my friend a bad driver? No! She was going under the speed limit, and where I live, that's perfectly legal everywhere except on certain interstates/highways. Just please try and be patient with people if they're driving slower than the traffic around them. You never know if someone is still learning, or if they're elderly, or distracted. I can keep going on; but you never know what's going on behind that person's wheel!! And in my friend's case, she literally had a student driver sticker so you're just being rude by not being patient for her, and you'd be endangering two minors (her sister was in the car with her.) tl;dr: drive safely and don't get impatient with slow/old/student drivers ok thanks getting into almost-crashes will mess with your head --- EDIT: thank you all so much for the support, i wasn't expecting to log on a few hours later with 41 messages! I showed the comments to my friend, and she's very grateful you all care so much <33
