It is an orchestral piece composed specifically for Soviet Central Television (CT USSR). It is widely known as: "Время — заставка (концовка)” English: “Vremya – End Theme” Vremya (Russian: Время, meaning “Time”) is the main Soviet national evening news program, broadcast on Central Television of the USSR from 1968 onward. It still exists today. It was: -the flagship news show of the entire Soviet Union -watched by tens of millions every night -the official voice of the government and state media -famous for its iconic intro, solemn orchestral music, and rotating globe graphics If you imagine the BBC News at Ten, but with full state control and a very distinctive Soviet aesthetic, that’s Vremya.
