Anxiety is the anticipation of danger or stress, as wells as the feeling of fear, unease, or anticipation about future threats. While normal anxiety ((the kind practically everyone has during stressful situations (such as an exam) that passes quickly)) helps with alertness, it can become a disorder when it involves excessive, uncontrollable, and long-lasting worry, characterized by racing thoughts, muscle tension, and avoidance behaviors. there are MANY symptoms of anxiety, but not all of them will apply to Verity, as not all of them apply to me! She will have GAD ((generalized anxiety disorder)) and Social Anxiety Disorder, both of which I have. Verity will heavily avoid social situations that could potentially lead to awkward interactions. I will be combining both feline anxiety and human anxiety for the best representation! in cats, anxiety can show itself in many different ways, including hiding, excessive or the sudden lack of licking, and appetite loss. Physical symptoms also can include trembling, small pupils, ears pinned back, hair on end, and rapid breathing. in humans, this is slightly similar, as it is trembling, dizziness, the pounding of the heart, shortness of breath, and fatigue. There can also be racing thoughts, muscle tension, and irritability. Verity will be the kind of cat to hole herself up and drift away from others when in ‘panic mode’, not speaking unless absolutely having to. she’ll never begin a conversation unless the other refuses to, and she’ll hate talking to others she doesn’t particularly know. she’s very clingy because of this, and losing someone she loves will hit her like a train. panic attacks will be a rare for her, only occurring in high-stress situations or when she’s overthinking something a LOT. roleplay examples of this will be in comments! She struggles daily because of her anxiety and constant worry, and often goes into the nursery to calm down after a particularly bad conversation.
