look. i'm just going to get straight to the point. I see this a lot in warriors fancomics. Villains end up in the Dark Forest for A REASON. Same with StarClan. Yet I see MANY, MANY writers making DF cats nice, or good. No hate or anything, but an example of this is ToPH (Tales of Perfectheart). The main antagonist (i think), Shiningstream, is a StarClan cat. This is problematic because StarClan is supposed to be where GOOD cats live. So anybody as selfish and just straight up evil as Shiningstream should not be in StarClan in the first place. Unless their situation was similar to Ashfur's, but to be fair, Ashfur shouldn't have gotten to StarClan in the first place either. He was obsessive, cruel, and just a generally bad cat. And Laurelwing. Sure, she wasn't AS bad as you would expect, but this doesn't make her a good person. As @Cattheloaf, creator of Switched Fates once wrote: "I'm meant to be in the Dark Forest.. for a reason." That quote applies to all DF cats, not just Wintershadow. Like it or not, anybody in the Dark Forest IS NOT A GOOD CAT. It's the opposite for StarClan. NOBODY IN STARCLAN IS A BAD CAT. We NEED to stop portraying DF cats as "good", and StarClan cats as "bad." Sure, you don't have to make all StarClan cats perfect heroes who can do no wrong, and you don't have to make all DF cats ne'er-do-wells who would ki// for fun. You just shouldn't make them pure evil OR good. Nobody's perfect. And the fact that people sometimes root for these characters..? That's concerning. You're allowed to like villains as CHARACTERS, but you need to recognize that THEY ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE. Liking someone as a character and liking someone as a person as different things.
