DEEP IN THE MEADOW It's all looking up It's all looking better Looking up to the sky I hold a love letter From once it came And where it's to I wish I could say But what can I do? Everywhere I see the sun Only here are shadows Where to go? What's to be done? I don't know All I can do is run It's all looking up It's all looking better I look at the sky And I see my love letter It's not from him It's not from you Why won't they tell me What I should do? I read through the night I study whenever Where should I go? Time is tighter It's all looking up It's all looking better I look down in my hands And I see a love letter It's not for me It's not for you I look around I try to ask who Nobody answers All I get is silence But I think I know It was always hers It's all looking up It's all looking better I look everywhere But I see no love letter It's not for me It's not for you I look around But I won't ask who It's all looking up It's all looking better I look to my right And there's the love letter It's not from him It's not from you Somebody please Tell me what to do! It's all looking up It's all looking better I look to my left And there's a love letter It's not from him It's not from you Why can't they tell me What I should do? It's all looking up It's all looking better I look at the ground And there's my love letter I look at me Then turn to you Somebody please Tell me what to do
This was partly inspired by the song Deep in the Meadow from the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the words in the TN are the stanza that this poem was most inspired by. It's also inspired by my life, not just the song, but the song gave me the idea to write it. Not my picture
