So Im starting a new series Called A Trick Of The Light (or aToTL) This project contains what you’ll need to know From Lore, to the Map of the Clans, to all the characters So I’ll start now! TW - mention of death/injuries TW (why do i have to put this…) LGBTQ+ characters If you’re a homophobic person, do not read this. THINGS YOU MUST KNOW : (F) = Female (M) = Male (N-B) = non-binary (D-B) = Demi-boy (D-G) = Demi-girl I did not include sexualities, but we do got a couple of gay, bi, pan, omni, straight, and lesbian people across the Clans! This story includes lots of LGBTQ+ There are four Clans - PoppyClan (Shadow) - CherryClan (Thunder) - BreezeClan (Wind) - BrookClan (River) They’re mostly based off of the four Clans, but have some differences. For example, instead of oaks and brambles and stuff, CherryClan has lots of cherry-blossom trees and petals. Most of the others are pretty similar, let’s say. Also, like how PoppyClan mostly has flower fields and pine forests then, let’s say marshes (with exceptions). There’s also a rogue group, called the Blood Moon. They’re kind of based of blood clan, just…different. You’ll see later, i have plans for them and dont want to spoil it. Let’s go into each individual Clan lore. WAIT Before that I need to say, this is an elemental series. All the cats (in the clans) have elemental powers based on their Clan. - Power Crystals Power crystals basically control your life in the Clans. All cats wear the crystals on a small string, taken from the Moonstone cave. Right before beginning apprenticeship, when kits are almost 6 moons, they go to the Moonstone and receive their gem. Once put on, it never can be removed unless you leave the Clans forever. The colors are - grayish-blue (BreezeClan, air/wind) - orange-red (PoppyClan, fire/flame) - blue-green (BrookClan, water/rain) - green-brownish-pinkish mix (CherryClan, earth/plants) These all have their powers. I got this idea from magnus chase, lol, so thanks Rick Riordan and the sword of summer! When they use their powers, the pendant/jewel comes off the string, stars glowing, and kind of imprints into their head, leaving a (whatever pendant color) mark in their forehead, a diamond like shape. When they say a word or something, a command, the pendant goes back on the necklace and they actually feel the toll it takes on their body. This is like an example, but with BreezeClan. Level 1 - Moving something with wind. not that exhausting, only makes you feel a bit tired. Level 2 - Lifting something large with wind. Kind of exhausting, makes you a little sore. Level 3 - Lifting multiple things, such as cats, high in the air. Very exhausting, you will need to rest afterwards. Level 4 - flying long distance, perhaps to other clans. Very tiring, afterwards, you pass out for 2-5 hours. Level 5 - flying ./very/ long distance. Like flying from twolegplace to PoppyClan. Passing out for 4-8 hours. Level 6 - Things that just take a long time/lots of effort. Passing out for a day or two. Level 7 - this is like moving your camp and all the cats in your clan into the air. Passing out for two-four days. Level 8 - such as moving your camp/all the cats in it in the air, and holding it for over 30 minutes. This can be fatal. That’s all about these power crystals for now, - BreezeClan This is where most of the main characters of the story-plot live/reside, so we’ll focus more on this Clan. It was formed by a cat who was a former loner named Breeze, for obvious reasons. She was more of a pacifist then a fighter, which ultimately led up to her de, by the leader/founded of Blood Moon. They live in the moor, or plains ig, with only a scattering of trees near the PoppyClan and CherryClan border. Most prey are rabbits, small mice, or large birds (on rare occasions). Their bodies are usually long and swift, for running and chasing hares. Cats : Leader : Runningstar Deputy : Crowwing (temporary, real one is Nightwhisper) Warriors : Hawkeye (M) Wheatgrass (N-B) Rabbitleap (M) Grasspelt (M) Stormfeather (F) Wispwing (F) Whitewing (D-G) Leaf (F) (former rogue) Flowerfur (F) Flywing (M) Apprentices : none Kits : Jinxkit (F) (MC!!!!) mom : Nightwhisper Queens : Nightwhisper (deputy, taking break 4 kits) BreezeClan cats have wind/air powers, i guess, and can basically fly/bend the wind to run, which makes them kind of OP. They can escape attacks and conduct ones. This takes some energy out of their energy crystals, though, and causes need of exhaustion. That’s all for now! Contd below
