This game is a dark fantasy, metroidvania-like game, with fast, lifesteal-based combat and a dark, emotional story. All music and art is handcrafted by me to create a memorable, immersive world. If you like Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, or Elden Ring, you'll like this game. As much as this is a demo, it is also a beta test to get feedback! CONTROLS: Instructions are in game, through tutorials, which can be referenced any time at a checkpoint. However, there are 3 controls not mentioned in the game: -Press T to respawn in case you get stuck -Press G to change the speed that text boxes appear (useful if you want to skim through dialogue) -Spam the spacebar during dialogue to skip through it further Though the demo acts as a standalone, there will be updates, and there will definitely be some things missing from this that will be in the full game. Specific Inspirations: -The Fury of The Penitent Soul-Born ability was heavily inspired by the Commander’s Call ability from the unreleased project Dishonored by @Raymond8080. -Some of The Broken Penitent’s attacks were inspired by ones from Abyssal Light, such as the flame jump. -Some of The Hollow Seraph’s attacks were inspired by those of the Radiance from Hollow Knight. -Weylor The Unburied’s design was inspired by Dummkoff from Abyssal Light.
