Hey, so, this is just so then anyone making their own oc lore can fit the SC lore as well. First, the Corruption is more of a parasite rather than a fully sentient being. Second, those infected are stuck in a perpetual state of happiness. (or euphoria, if you will lol) They don't feel the need to resist the Corruption, as it makes them feel better then they ever have, per say. The Corruption works similar to the Neruax Worm from Plague Inc, where the worm takes control of the host and overloads dopamine receptors so the host feels no urge to resist. Infected will try and lead other people into the Corruption, as they believe it'll save the person and make them feel better. The Corruption also forces their body, regardless of any physical or mental diseases, to follow it, meaning any disorder prior is erased. Infected CAN fight back the Corruption, however. It requires intense willpower and physical strength, as it'll punish the host by putting them in immense pain. If the host gets hurt in any vital area (heart, lungs, brain, etc,) the Corruption cannot save them and both will die. The Corruption can only use people that are alive, not dead people.
