The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Review *SPOILERS*

Notes before my Review Starts: I made these 2 art pieces for MAR10 Day but sadly, uhhh I didn't meet the deadline and it was like 12:01 something when I finished so I repurposed these for this! Also another Scratcher by the name of: @GB_Comics already posted their review before I could so keep in Mind I did not copy them also credit to Nintendo & Illumination also, this rant might go down to the Notes & Credits! **SPOILERS** Yeah the movie was pretty good! i'm still obsessed with the first movie since I am after-all a Nintendo fanboy at heart! Sadly while I was smiling and giggling simaller to the first one I just didn't feel the same hype and yeah it could be the novelty of a modern Super Mario movie has kinda faded but that still didn't mean I wasn't excited for it. I loved the music, atmosphere, art, especially the Animation of the entire film and there were parts that blew me away I felt like the movie didn't live up to the title which has always been a problem I had with the first Movie. Like it's called the Super Mario Bros. Movie yet Luigi gets sidelined super heavily at the 2nd act. Same with this one! One of the most important characters in the Super Mario Galaxy Duology Rosalina does not get a lot of screen-time, which is insane! Not too mention besides some characters like the junkbot robots, woodles, Bee guards, Lumas, and the Honey queen and some I failed to mention it just didn't use a lot of characters from Galaxy. if Anything I felt some more Odyssey and Sunshine vibes especially with how they use Bowser Jr. Another thing that was weird too me was the use of other Nintendo characters like Fox Mcloud, R.O.B, Pikmin and Mr. Game & Watch while I loved the fan service it felt out of place! (maybe besides R.O.B and Mr.Game & Watch) Especially Fox Mcloud who does get this super cool anime intro to explain his inclusion and I bet many were excited too see Fox like I was I felt like it was just kinda dumb they it spoiled a week before the movie, like it would've been a PERFECT surprise then they could've marketed the hell out of it after it left theaters. Since they did that he felt nothing but forced why not use an actual Mario Character like Nabbit or something? I keep hearing this complaint that Fox got more screen-time then Rosalina but if anything I felt the opposite cause I feel like they maybe share the same screen-time sure he definitely has more lines but Rosalina definitely had more focused scenes on her! Besides all that, that's my main issues! Yoshi was hilarious throughout the film! I keep hearing people say that Yoshi was not used that well and felt forced I thought he fit in perfectly and I loved the voice acting it's pretty insane he was voiced by Childish Gambino of All people it felt like genuine voice acting which is not to shame him in-fact it's a compliant! I really loved Bowser Jr. and Bowser's relationship with Bowser deeply caring for Jr. and the little puppet show flashback we get was truly perfection and the animators deserve props for that! Despite me clowning on it Mr.Game & Watch blew me away since I never saw him coming maybe it would've been a Kirby reference heck I even expected a Pokémon reference but having Mr.Game & Watch in it was such a treat and truly did make it feel like a Super Smash Bros. Movie -1 point for killing him off though... Another aspect I really loved was of course the callbacks and references and honestly it was tiring at first but when you embrace them it feels nice it truly shows the team making this cared for the Mario Franchise outside of just Mario Kart or what have you! Another thing I thought was weird but didn't really care for was Rosalina and Peach being sisters a twist that felt obvious In the first one but one I didn't even truly expect they commit with but now no more Rosaeach or whatever the ship name is okay?! Another thing that bothered me but not hugely was the ending was just like super short, after the castle got destroyed we get a short little montage of them building it Peach kisses Mario that's it nothing crazy I did like the credits being arts & crafts though! However I loved the end credits since Lumalee was so funny in the first one it would've been a crime if they weren't in it! Also it's weird how she goes from a He to a She in this one but eh whatever! I liked the Wart scene it was nice to see him back and finally have Birdo in a Movie since my Mom adores her but the scene was kinda too hyped up and honestly I don't feel like it was needed nice fan service but not needed, same with Mario & Luigi being babies with the Odyssey T-Rex scene not needed cute but man, it felt too forced... They were still cool callbacks and were cool to see in the moment but after the excitement is over I realized they definitely could've been those scenes handled better! One thing I gotta mention is Dry Bowser I loved the callbacks to Super Mario Maker with Bowser Jr. building the course.
