All her life, she was considered bad and horrid, even though she really isn't. Her sun side with her rounder eye means she is usually sweet and kind. However, her moon side with her creepy eye means she has a side to her that is not naturally good. These two sides mean that she is trying to fit in by trying to become different versions of herself. She hates both, but has to live with them. She also has a hard time controlling herself, sometimes snapping at people or having sudden changes in emotion. Explanation to sun and moon mode: When Lya first came to the circus, she started to act differently. One second, she is very kind and sweet to everyone, but the next second, she is yelling right at her friends for no reason at all. It was almost as if she was two people in one body. She called these two different personalities "modes". They were known as the sun and moon modes. The sun mode is usually her good side. She usually is kind and shy. She is friends with Pom Pom, Ragatha, and Gangle when she is on this side. However, there is her moon mode. She is usually way meaner and is very easily convinced to do stuff if it doesn't sound right, making her become very close to Jax and making the others hate her. Pom Pom tries to become friends with Lya on both modes. Lya has a crush on Jax in her moon mode, but hates him in her sun mode, so it's a little complex. She also hates everyone else in moon mode.
